As the crypto market remains strong, with Bitcoin approaching the $70,000 mark, savvy investors are increasingly turning their attention to airdrops as a way to potentially capitalize on new tokens.
Here are four significant airdrops to keep an eye on this week:
SupraOracles: Countdown to Launch
SupraOracles is preparing to distribute free SUPRA tokens following a Snapshot on October 21. The project has successfully raised $26.52 million, with backing from major investors such as Coinbase Ventures, HashKey Capital, Animoca Brands, and HTX Ventures.
Participants who have completed airdrop tasks can now see their eligible tokens. To claim, users must select a token distribution plan—if no choice is made, a 30-month vesting period will be automatically applied. Additionally, SupraOracles has launched an exciting new activity called Supra Starcade, which will distribute 250 million SUPRA tokens. This activity, taking place in the test network, involves predicting token prices, and is designed to further incentivize user engagement.
Scroll: Ethereum’s zkRollup Scaling Solution
Scroll’s airdrop has gained momentum after its October 19 Snapshot. The project, which raised $80 million with backing from Polychain Capital, Variant, and Bain Capital Crypto, is preparing for its SCR token to hit exchanges. The SCR token will be listed on October 22, alongside the launch of the token claim portal.
A significant portion of the 1 billion SCR tokens—15%—will be allocated to the airdrop, distributed in two phases (7% and 8%). The distribution will be based on on-chain activity, marking addresses that meet certain criteria. However, community sentiment around the airdrop has been mixed, with concerns about the project’s ability to reward over 2 million active addresses. There’s also speculation that some insiders may have unfairly accumulated tokens through early engagement.
Eclipse: Solana’s Ethereum Layer-2 Solution
Eclipse, a new Ethereum Layer-2 solution powered by the Solana Virtual Machine (SVM), is also gearing up for an airdrop. With $65 million raised from investors such as Polychain Capital, Tribe Capital, and Delphi Ventures, Eclipse is one to watch.
While the reward date remains unclear, users can prepare by minting NFTs as Eclipse’s mainnet and bridge go live. Participants need to add the Eclipse network to their wallets before minting. The bridge will allow for transactions starting at 0.002 ETH.
Aptos: Airdrop for Blockchain Veterans
Aptos, a well-established blockchain project, is also planning a community airdrop to celebrate the second anniversary of its mainnet launch. The project has raised $350 million from major investors, including Binance Labs, Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), and Jump Crypto. Aptos has allocated 51% of its tokens to community rewards, making it a notable airdrop for existing users.
As part of the celebration, Aptos is offering a limited edition NFT for minting, which could provide additional bonuses for both Aptos and other projects within its ecosystem. While it’s unclear whether this NFT will trigger an airdrop, the free minting could offer participants a chance to benefit from future rewards.
