The Ethereum-based farming game Pixels, now on the Ronin network, is set to launch Guild Wars Season 2: Spore Sports. This competitive event will run from December 10, 2024, to March 4, 2025, offering a massive $4 million in PIXEL token rewards.
What to Expect in Spore Sports
Players will form guilds and engage in mushroom cultivation and strategic sabotage to climb the leaderboards. Activities include growing and harvesting crops, disrupting rivals’ operations, and earning rewards through individual and guild contributions. Prizes include PIXEL tokens, Guild Runes, and exclusive in-game items, including powerful tier-4 Ultimate Items unlockable through activities in the Cave Hub Map.
Building on Guild Wars Success
Pixels founder and CEO Luke Barwikowski emphasized the event’s role in advancing Web3 gaming. “This season builds on the success of our inaugural Guild Wars, which resulted in more PIXEL being burned than distributed, and incorporates feedback to deliver an even more rewarding experience,” he said. The event aims to establish large-scale competitions that positively impact the ecosystem.
A Growing Player Base
Since migrating to Ronin in late 2023, Pixels has amassed over 8 million players, with its February PIXEL drop ranking among the largest gaming token launches of the year. While PIXEL is currently trading at $0.28, down 4% on the day, it has surged 96% over the past month, according to CoinGecko.
